Cynthia Altoriso is a highly esteemed film and photography stylist based in NYC. With a career spanning several facets of the industry, Cynthia has established herself as a consummate professional renowned for her historical precision and meticulous attention to detail. Her work expands to the fashion and bridal industry, theatre, film, and history.

Initially embarking on her journey as an agent representing photographers, stylists, and set artists, Cynthia soon discovered her natural skills in styling and transitioned into a full-time role in fashion, still life, product, and her specialty, portraiture. She has also styled for red-carpet events and features.

Throughout her illustrious career, Cynthia has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed celebrities, photographers, and models, including the likes of Ellen von Unwerth, Fabrizio Ferri, Mark Man, Amy Arbus, John Dugdale, Brad Trent, and an impressive array of others. Her clientele boasts renowned personalities such as Alan Cumming, Alec Baldwin, Deepak Chopra, Barron Hilton, Princess Keisa Omilana, and numerous others.

 

With her extensive knowledge and expertise in fine art, photography, and history, Cynthia is adept at designing and styling sets for various genres, encompassing fashion, still life, and tabletop photography. Drawing from her years spent living in Rome as an art student, artist's representative, and historical tour guide, Cynthia infuses her work with a captivating blend of cultural influences. Fluent in Italian and Spanish, she effortlessly communicates and connects with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Cynthia's contributions extend beyond her independent work. She freelances at Broderson Backdrops, showcasing her versatility and expertise in enhancing visual narratives. Additionally, she has collaborated with Lydia Gordon of Fashion Design Resource, a distinguished archive housing a rich collection of vintage couture spanning from the 17th to the mid-20th century. Cynthia's profound knowledge and passion for her craft have also led her to share her insights as a lecturer for the Photography Styling department at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
